Functional Fitness

in 2021

Functional Fitness is for you, if…

You want to wake up each day with energy and ease of movement. Are you are struggling to roll out of bed because of stiffness and aches and pains? Imagine starting your day with supple joints and muscles that are ready to get going.

You want to feel more confident in your body. Gaining coordination and body awareness through functional fitness makes you stronger and more resilient. No matter what sport or activity you enjoy, you’ll see improvements in your movement quality.

You want to have fun and be engaged during your workout! No mindless exercises here. You’ll be challenged to move and stabilize your body in new ways. If your 2021 goal is to become the best Twister player in your family, you’ll love functional fitness.

What is Functional Fitness?

Functional fitness is exercise using whole body movement; the natural movements our bodies are designed to do. These are athletic movements, practical every day movements, and primal movements. Movements similar to what you might do while hiking, camping, gardening, cleaning, and playing with your dog or kids.

Instead of targeting a specific muscle or body part like a traditional machine at the gym, functional movements incorporate the whole body at once. When your whole body is involved, the brain gets a workout along with the muscles, lungs, and heart. It takes coordination and body awareness to breathe, stabilize your core, and move all at the same time.
