Liz Waddell PT, DPT, MSCS

I am fortunate to own Art of Movement Physical Therapy where I am able to give my full attention to my clients. I have time to listen to each client’s story, systematically assess and problem solve the cause of their issues, and truly help those that are motivated to improve their physical performance.

Liz is a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill, where she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2013. She was the recipient of the Judy Capps Beswick Award in 2013 for excellence in clinical education. At UNC she participated in MS STEP UP, a specialized learning program in conjunction with the local chapter of the National MS Society to develop expertise in treating persons with multiple sclerosis.

Since graduating, Liz has worked in both neurologic and orthopedic clinic settings. She has found that her expertise in both the neurologic and musculoskeletal systems has been advantageous for providing a comprehensive and holistic approach to care. Liz loves to learn and takes numerous continuing education courses each year, far exceeding the hours required by the NC Physical Therapy Board. As an overachiever, she strives to be on top of the most current information that allows her to provide the highest quality physical therapy treatment. Her current pursuits focus on combining manual therapy and exercise interventions to most efficiently restore and optimize function.

Liz also has a BFA in dance and a background as a Pilates and dance instructor. She is a professional level competitive pole dancer and teaches adult fitness, flexibility, and aerial dance classes. In her free time, Liz enjoys relaxing with her husband, Cailen, and two cats, Miss Carrie and Mr. Leo.
